L.E.A.P 01 Hit The Ground Running

L.E.A.P 01 was a really great event and a fantastic start to the L.E.A.P franchise. One that was centered around intelligent debate.

The experts were utterly fantastic and they were more than willing to share their knowledge and field some tricky questions.

L.E.A.P 01 has really proven the effectiveness of this workshop format and it is something that we shall be continuing at L.E.A.P 02 and beyond.

The hog roast was lovely, the VW bugbar generously refreshed us, delegates learnt directly from leading industry experts and the sun came out to shine... what more we have possibly asked for.

We also raised £1,500 for WaterAid.

Thanks to everyone that made L.E.A.P 02 such a success

L.E.A.P 01 was such a success that we did it again.

We put together another interactive event, that was fuelled by intelligent discussion and where delegates asked questions and challenged conventional wisdom.

This ethos is the backbone of what L.E.A.P stands for and we wish to continue to offer such platforms for debate.

This year at L.E.A.P 02 we put on our infection control hat and five tables were set up to deal with various aspects of infection control in water systems. Experts included:

Dr. Jimmy Walker (Principle Investigator at Public Health England)
Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
Professor Clive Thomson (Professor of Chemistry at Alcontrol Laboratories)
Sonal Patel (Microbiologist at Alpha Scientific)
Chemical and Microbial Analysis
Dr. Birgitta Bedford (PhD Legionella Control)
Biofilms and Bacterial growth in Water Systems
Dr. Sam Collins (Legionella Microbiologist at Public Health England)
Legionella and other hospital acquired infections
Toby Thorp (City of London Environmental Health Officer)
John Foxall (Estates Engineer at Kidderminster Hospital)
Estates and Compliance

We also raied £2,200 for the doctor exchange charity Daktari Wetu.
